Ballisodare Village Development

Ballisodare Village, Co. Sligo was an important commercial and trading centre during the 18th Century which left a distinctive stamp on the village leading to clustered development characteristics of the 18th and 19th Centuries. It is important to retain the character of the
village, it’s architectural and industrial heritage whilst providing modern amenities for a growing population.

Ballisodare Village DevelopmentThe Ballisodare Town Development is an example of successful incorporation of conservation issues in a modern development and reflects the balanced approach of  Dr. Brennan's Consultancy Firm, whereby conservation issues are a priority while allowing historic buildings continuous use into the future of modern Ireland.

Modern commercial requirements and community amenities such as fitness facilities, a community hall, supermarket and car parking in addition to domestic units were sensitively and sympathetically designed so that the historic buildings were conserved, respected and influenced the scale of the modern development with the result that the town development was integrated into the village without any undue negative impacts on the overall appearance of the village or it’s architectural heritage.
