Rising damp can be treated with a damp proofing system called Electro Osmosis. A wire such as titanium is strung along and into a wall then subjected to a low voltage charge. This prevents dampness rising up a wall. Electro Osmosis is seen as an alternative to chemical damp proofing and is easily concealed behind skirting boards. It can also be applied to a range of wall types that are often difficult to damp proof, such as thicker walls, and those in protected and listed buildings.
